Communication between you and a therapist is confidential and protected by law. No information can be released to anyone without your prior consent.

Exceptions to this as required by law:
  • Suspected child abuse, dependent adult or elder abuse. The therapist is mandated by law to report suspected abuse immediately.
  • A client threatens serious bodily harm to another person.
  • A client intends to harm himself or herself. The therapist works with the client to ensure safety. If this cannot occur, then measures to ensure safety can be taken.
